Export setting

What is the difference between "fast export video" and "fast export MPEG compliant video"? For the original MPEG compliant file how does the export speed varies for the two settings?

Hi,
The Fast Export feature will export the video that is highlighted/selected on the timeline with the exact same properties that the video file has.
It keeps the video files properties the same as the original video. So if you trimmed the end of the file and exported it the video properties will be the same as the original.
The fast export feature doesn't care if the video file is dvd compliant and doesn't go by any other settings in MF, such as the Project Properties.
So, if you import a video and trim out all the commercials you can fast export it out making the process very fast. You can import videos from a camera that are in mpeg format but aren't dvd compliant. Edit them and export them out at with the same settings. This is very useful for making a video to send via e-mail to someone.
Fast Export will be disabled if you JOIN any videos because it can only work with one file at a time. The process is called "Smart-Rendering".

The "Fast Export Dvd compliant video is very tricky and depends on a few IF's.
It's to complex to explain. But, bases the exported video depending on their video properties AND IF they don't match or can't be joined or rendered to a compliant video file using their original video properties then they are converted to your "Project Settings" accessed by clicking on the GEAR icon.

(To many Nand & Nor gates in the equation).

Hope this helps,

MD
