Can MF change LPCM audio to AC-3 without rerendering?
I'm getting used to MF3.5 and know that it will change mpeg audio to Dolby Digital without re-rending the video portion by clicking the box that says: treat mpeg audio as non compliant but am wondering if this box also works on LPCM audio? My editor (Mediastudio Pro 6.5) will only do LPCM or mpeg audio and I would bet that going from LPCM to Dolby would be better than going from mpeg to Dolby? I haven't experienced any degradation in going from mpeg to Dolby yet. I have tried LPCM in the past but remember having problem with sound sync. etc. I do know that a Nero encoded LPCM video doesn't maintain sync at all, the video is jerky, poor quality, etc. The reason I'm stuck with 6.5 Pro is that that is the latest prog. that my Canopus Raptor still supports. Moving on to a program tha does Dolby will mean a move to generic firewire and I hate to give up on the Raptor as it has it's advantages, etc.
