I've captured some MPG files from a DVD with home movies on it. They play with audio in Windows Media Player, but when I import them into VideoStudio 8 (8.01.1000) there is no audio.
Any suggestions appreciated.

MPG files from DVD have no sound

Audio Type?
If your DVD with the home movies on it has Dolby Digital audio (AC3), then you would need to have the AC3 plugin for Video Studio installed.
How was that DVD with the home movies recorded? Alot of standalone DVD Recorders use AC3 audio...

You can download the AC-3 Dolby Digital plug in from here :-

No sound in preview or final output
Have been seaching the database for any help with no audio with regards to importing a VRO file from a Sony DVD recorder. This thread seems to be the closest to my problem. If I am understanding it the pluggin should eliminate the fact that my recorded DVD-VR file is using this AC-3 audio format and the VS8 needs the plug-in to understand it and also burn it onto the final disk. I too can plan my VOR file on my laptop but when editing there is no audio track or sound. Sorry if this is a complete rehash, but I'm about to go nuts understanding what I need to do.
