re dvd mf5
Failed to Burn 513:0:0

Seems to be related to a file limit (undocumented) of between 400 and 424 files as input.

Tried 425 tiff files and got error.
Tried 325 tiff files and burned fine.
Tried 400 tiff files and burned fine
all using the same files and settings.

Next test,
Tried 425 jpg files as input (made from the above tiff files)
425 jpg files failed with same error
tried with 404 jpg files and it burned fine.

Note the error is the same on failure whether the final screen is set to burn to disk or create dvd folders.

input File size seems irrelevant since the tiff files equaled 4.3g pre input and the jpg files equaled 800m.

I find this extremely annoying since the programmers had to know of this limitation and suppress it.

I am still looking for any software that will make dvd slideshows with up to 1000 files. No transitions, no music, no grandma decorations, and use the file name as the caption.

Tell me there is someone willing to make something functional without all the crap that makes idiots buy it. (I think I answered my own question)

Another 50.00 to ulead that must be written off. This does not make me want to try the high end stuff since every test drive I have tried from ulead turned into a monster that had to be combed from the registry by hand.

I don't seem to have that problem, just created a slideshow with 939 jpg files, created DVD folders. It took about 5 minutes to create without any bells and whistles, no menues and sound.

Played back fine.

I am reinstalling on another system with fewer resources

but it has never had a ulead product installed on it. That will tell me if it is the usual bogus dll issue versions usually introduce.

Another p4 system works ok. The original system had pictureshow trial installed and then removed. A restore point had to be used to get the use of other dvd programs to work again.
It looks like a buggered dll is still hiding there somewhere.

The error number should still be documented by the engineers somewhere.
Perhaps the marketers will call India and ask them?
