Stoopid question re Music CD/Disk Creator

Post by Devil »

I have a 12 minute WAV file which I wanted to record as a Music CD. Thinking I'd use the ancient MF3 Disk Creator, everything seemed to go OK and what appears visibly the right amount of space was burnt on a CD-R. The only problem is that the disc doesn't play in any of 3 CD-players nor in the drive used to burn it. The CD-R appears empty except, of course, it will not be accepted as such, another coaster!

To check, I did a music CD copy: same result.

Data CD-Rs (same media) burn perfectly in the same drive and Music CDs play and/or rip perfectly, as well.

This is the first time I've had occasion to try to burn a music CD, so I'm woefully ignorant as to the subject. Am I doing something stupid?

That could well be, burning a wav file and expect it to play in a CD player, don't know, never tried that.

How exactly did you go about burning this thing? Settings?

I used the Create Music Disc (and the Copy Disc) functions of Disc Creator. The former states "Add your music to make a standard audio CD". It accepts WAV files to do so, while the Copy CD generates the ISO image.

The WAV file was standard 44.1 kHz 16 bit PCM stereo with a bitrate of 1411 kbit/s and plays perfectly.
