Jumpy Video

Post by antzpompeii »

Hi Everyone

Hoping someone here has an answer....

I've completed my SVCD and when i play it on my PAL TV it seems to be a bit jumpy....

I know the problem lies on my AVI files which i captured using WINAVI. But how do i make it so it doesn't jump at all? is it possible????

Your response would be appreciated.

My project properties is:
PAL (25 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 576, 4:3, 25 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- PAL, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Thanks
Regards,
Antz

What does it mean exactly: a bit jumpy? Can you be more specific?

One more thing, are you sure you made a SVCD? 720 x 576 is PAL DVD, not SVCD. SVCD would be 420 X 576, mpeg1 with a max of 2750 kbps including the audio.

The properties you state are for the DV-AVI files and project settings for VS. What were your settings when you created the mpeg file from this?

I'm also curious about project properties for the SVCD (what is listed does look more like the .avi properties).

For PAL SVCD -- I believe video resolution should be 480x576 and mpeg2

Of course you are right with the frame size for SVCD, I had a bit of a typo in my previous post.

I figured the resolution was a typo -- just wanted to let the OP know they could use mpeg2 video (vs. mpeg1) for SVCD...
