Have you found any good dvd lab pro forums, or help/tutorial sites. I wouldn't mind having a read before trying the trial version.

I just signed up for the Forum that the mediachance (DVD Lab) site references. It is http://www.mmbforums.com/phpbb/.

So the forums are there supporting the product, we'll see how good they are. I'm downloading trial copies of DVD Lab Studio and DVD Lab Pro now - I can't wait any longer for ULead and DVD WS3.

Too bad, my money is burning a hole in my pocket and I need to spend it.

I've been looking at different websites for authoring programs also. Do I understand DVD Lab Pro cant encode and burn on its own and needs another mpeg encoder program?

I thought about Encore also. It just seems (not that it is necessarily relevent) that Adobe has the need for so much more in system requirements to run. While DVD Lab will run on Win95. :)

Another is DVDit Pro 6 which seems to be pretty full featured.

Come on DVD Workshop ... let us know!

It can burn on its own, but does not encode on its own. I do all of my encoding to MPEG using Ulead VideoStudio 10, and then DVD Workshop de muxes the mpeg files to elementry audio and video streams. So it does not really need to re-encode when using mpegs. FWIW ..

I just got an e-mail from Ulead touting all the great things in DVD Movie Factory 5 Plus. I must admit it is pretty impressive and contains many features that I really want, but aren't in WS2. That means, I need to makes a decision--switch to DVD MF5 Plus or wait for an upgrade to Workshop. I really like Workshop 2 and would prefer an upgrade (especially since I've already paid a good bit of money for the program), but if I don't here something in the near future concerning a new release, I will go ahead and make the switch to MF5 Plus--and once, I do (i.e., spend the money), I will NOT then also upgrade WS if a new version comes out.

Yes, I know Ulead doesn't normally release any information on upcoming programs, but I think it would only be fair to it's current, loyal customers to let them know if they can expect an upgrade. If the answer is "yes", then I will patiently (maybe not that patiently) wait for it. If the answer is "no", then I can move on to MF5 Plus if that's my decision.

I guess a lot of us are in the same boat. I haven't heard of the MF5+ program, but I did read about a few glitches in the MF5 program. I wonder if this + version is merely a fix version of MF5 much like the Pinnacle attempt at their vers 10 with vers. 10.5

I would really like to see a refined DWS3, but if word doesn't come pretty soon, I'll have to look elsewhere also.

That plus thing is not very reassuring to me LOL (they would have tricked me better if they called it "Pro") haha..

I don't see anything listed on the Ulead site for that program either. Can anyone shed more light on what it is?

I'm still looking into DVDit Pro 6 but can't find much independent review material on it.

Ulead ... tell us :)

Oh, I have subscribed long ago. Shoot, I have a program called Choice Mail that blocks all incoming unknown mail and sends back to the sender a message to respond. If no human responds that incoming message goes by-by without me even knowing it happened. Small price to pay for a very clean email.

If I knew the incoming email senders address I could add it to my white list and it would get through. Is that incoming Ulead mail address something you could find easily for me? If so I'll add it.

So far I haven't received that newsletter, and I've been subscribed to it. I don't have any filtering that would prevent it from getting through.

Oh well..

I messed about with the Movie Factory trial. Is it just me or is MF not on the same authoring level at all - a step back in fact. This is reflected in its price. If I change I want better than DVDWS2 which means leaving Ulead for other softwares mentioned above.

No, it's not you. MF5 is entry level. WS2 is prosumer. WS3 is vapourware!

Well - a month has passed by... and DVDWS3 has supposedly been in beta for at least 7 months or more .....

Any news - is our dream of 3 just a dream?
Well it's almost Aug 06 ... that makes over a year of labor investment for either an upgrade to WS3 or a patch to WS2 - looks like a ruse to me. Don't appreciate the apparent misleading info posted. Ulead would have made some kind of statement had they really been making such a large investment in DVDWS3 or a patch. I now believe my earlier info from a reliable source I know for years - it's DEAD.

Purchased Encore 2 - goodbye Ulead-Intervideo.
Well the news hit the wires today - Intervideo who purchased Ulead in April 05 and never developed DVDWorkshop after their purchase, has now been themselves bought by Corel. http://www.technewsworld.com/story/52673.html

And still no word from Intervideo about a DVDWorkshop2 upgrade to 3 other than what I now think is false info on this forum that DVDWS3 is still in beta from someone claiming to be a beta tester - take that person's postings for what their worth.

Another beta tester that I know for a long time and trust said the beta testing was killed in Dec 05 and it's a dead product for future development.

Too bad - just thought I'd let the folks like me that had held hope for so long get on with finding other solutions.
