Looks like the price of DVDWS2 is reduced, so does that possibly indicate that DVDWS3 is "on the way"?

You may think that, but I couldn't possibly comment, other than to say, 'No!'.

There is a cold reality here that Intervideo needs to face and understand .. they are losing customers by not disseminating timely information.

I am an owner of VS10, DVDMF5, and DVDWS2, and of course all the previous releases.

I have been working on a major project using these tools. For the most part, other than memory leak problems VS10 has worked great.

When I finished developing video content and switched to the DVD Layout I started with DVDMF5. Well after just a couple of hours it was clear the bugs were going to keep me from completing the layout in this tool.

I then switched to DVDWS2. I was happy because it seemed more stable, but slow, but then again I ran into some bugs. For example it does not remember new libraries of content. I then reached a show stopping point in DVDWS2. I scoured the forums for a solution, nothing. Steve J was very helpful, but in the end DVDWS2 was not going to do what I wanted.

I then tried out DVD-LAB Pro. It took a couple hours to get the hang of things, and then WOW .. I can finally do what I need to do to finish my DVD layout.

So now, I will not be upgrading either DVDWS2 or DVDMF5 as I am a happy DVD-Lab user now.

Moral of this story for Intervideo . If you want to keep your customers, you need to provide regular support and ship regular bug fixes and updates .. otherwise your loyal customers will have no choice but to move to competitive products!

So I hope you are listening .. the time is *now* for bug fix updates to DVDMF5 and VS10, and a new version of DVDWS2. :!:

dblml320, I actually don't think Intervideo cares at all about DVD Workshop not being upgraded and whether of not market share is lost. :)

Sorry, I couldn't resist that. Intervideo doesn't make the products you are talking about. They are made by Ulead.

I had thought Intervideo bought Ulead? So if this is true, why kill off the products that bring in revenue? :?:

InterVideo will keep Ulead main-stream products and still support them, including the fix updates.

And what products are mainstream and will remain so? This is an arbitrary definition and could mean things like VS, MF and PI and drop everything else, in time. The pessimistic forecasts in http://forums.murc.ws/showthread.php?t=57632
don't bode well for the future of IV.

I too would like to see a version 3 come out. Everything seems to work fine for me in version 2 except they need to add better menu creation tools, especially text editing and effects for those of us who aren't graphic designers. If not that then it should be able to easily import menus created in MediaChance's DVD Menu Studio.. Also, the preview playback should play the video better as it's always out of sync whenever I play anything in the program.

I too would like to see a DVDWS3. WS2 has been good to me for deaf subtitles.

I would love to see DVD Workshop 3. I'd buy it the second it comes out. Having 16x9 widescreen menus would be a dream with a piece of software that has the functionality of the DVDWS series.

I also would love to see DWS3, so ... I see a lot of us wanting to see it, but is there any new dirt on whether it is even being considered or worked on?

thanks,

Actually I was made a member of the Beta Testing Team on 17 March 2006. all I can say is that I would encourage people to continue to support our call to get things moving along.

Well - a month has passed by... and DVDWS3 has supposedly been in beta for at least 7 months or more .....

Any news - is our dream of 3 just a dream?
Well it's almost Aug 06 ... that makes over a year of labor investment for either an upgrade to WS3 or a patch to WS2 - looks like a ruse to me. Don't appreciate the apparent misleading info posted. Ulead would have made some kind of statement had they really been making such a large investment in DVDWS3 or a patch. I now believe my earlier info from a reliable source I know for years - it's DEAD.

Purchased Encore 2 - goodbye Ulead-Intervideo.

At present there has been no official announcment - maybe Intervideo are still considering it, but one way or another they really ought to come out and tell us loyal people what their intentions are.

You've bought encore, there are others who want to make a purchase or upgrade...... we can't all wait forever, come on Intervideo is it coming or not, tell us one way or another

I would have happily upgraded to DVDWS3 had it been available, but time ran out for me, I had a big DVD project that I delivered last week. I tried, and now really like DVD-Lab Pro .. it is amazing what it can do!
