I'm betting part of the delay in development is the addition of support for HD and HD-DVD. However, they really should have completed this work by now.

I just checked and the SmartScene Menus in VS10+ and also MF5 will import into Workshop 2. Obviously though they only behave as standard menus.

DWS3

Post by dennisbthomas »

Not only do I need DWS3 but I would like to know from Ulead, when and if they plan to release DWS3. Can't wait forever.

Thanks

Workshop is dead

Post by joliverio »

I just heard from a friend who called Tech Support with a question and he was told that Workshop is obsolete and no longer supported.

I guess that answers this thread.

Now what?

my simple theory says that Ulead will never create WS3, because it would automatically obsolete all their other products.. with a solid WS3 why do you need anything else??

think about it.. and you'll see I'm right.. dvd authoring is key.. full menu/button control, etc.. NON of their other tools have that.. they want to still have the 'product line' with all the useless titles that do not much..

WS3 rules!! if it comes out it will wipe out not only the compatition, but also all of ulead's products, hence, they delay and cancel this..

silly choice ulead.. we want ws3 now!

I have another theory.
Ulead have been working hard this past few months bringing out
MSP8 then its service pack.
VS10 (Two versions)
MovieFactory 5.

Now what are they going to do with all those highly paid computer programmers - make them redundant?

Steve,
Due to the fact that you were made a beta tester, could one read anything into that statement? Don't answer, I know you can't anyway.

There are a lot of theories around regarding WS3, some maybe with substance, some without. The major problem, though, is Ulead's silence. I think there are a lot of people who are holding back on purchasing decisions, waiting for an answer on this one. Many of us, and not only with Ulead products, have bought something, only for a newer version to come out shortly thereafter. WS2 is quite old, and most Ulead products have been upgraded, so logically WS is next, so people are waiting to see what happens. Soon they will lose patience and go elsewhere, and may be permanantly lost to Ulead as a customer. If they had an answer to the burning question, I think many of those people would wait, and stick with WS. I know I am one of those people.

Greg

Greg,
I can't answer you beta testing question for sure, but I suspect the person in charge of selecting beta testers, is not the person who decides on what happens with the upgrading programme of work.... luckily they do talk from time to time, but not often enough maybe :P

Post by tunjin »

i love WS2 and new WS3 i wait it
but i have the mind for ws new function..
i show you site image so fisrt you see it ok:
http://www.macworld.com/2005/07/images/ ... o2_big.jpg
this image is studio pro 4 from apple..
did you see -left windows- image of studio pro 4?
i dont know what is name it? maybe name is workflow? or "graphical" wrote from studio pro...
so i think NEW WS3 can create new function like of "grapfical" or "workflow" studio pro (left windows)?
it's powerfull function for you and for all fan WS3..
because it is much comfort, just?
also example:
when i will work on new ws3 so i will click on "workflow" or "graphical" for control..
what do you think about new fuction "workflow" or "graphical" in WS3?

Yes, that would be a nice feature, and it is already on the DWS3 Wish List :)
