(and skier-hughes and heinz - maybe ease up on folks who provide info different from your viewpoint or perspective - all accurate info is valuable - lambasting people and labeling them trolls isn't)
But at the time you were incorrect, as we were working on WS3, just couldn't say anything, so we were just trying to providing factual info rather than gossip.

Just because what has happened over time, doesn't mean you were accurate when you said it.

Anyway, let's leave it at we both would like WS3, but we won't hold our breath :)

Deal ----

What solution for 16:9 SD and maybe occasional Blu-Ray/HD-DVD are you fellow DVDWS lovers using in place of our beloved?

Are there any comparable Ulead programs?

Others? (guess that would be ok to discuss here since DVDWS appears to be left where it is for now.)

The only other Ulead DVD Authoring programs that come anywhere near DVD Workshop are DVD MovieFactory and VideoStudio.

Other available programs are from the former intervideo range and I have not bothered with them much as they appeared to me very basic.

99% of my work is still SD 4.3, so I rarely have to worry.
For 16.9 I use the hack listed in the tutorial section.
By the time I need to use HD/BluRay then I guess I'll have learned another app :) or :(

MF and VS are nowhere near WS2 when it comes to authoring. For starters I need a blank slate to begin with to which I am free to add anything I like anywhere I like. When the user clicks on something I want to control what happens (playlists, menus). Its really sad corel dont add the last few touches to make WS future proof for a while (e.g. vista, 16:9 etc). From my limited research in other products, nothing comes close to WS for ease of use and flexibility in authoring. Sure there's other stuff that does authoring but its so much more complex than WS that I dont bother.

Due to the fact that Corel is not going to do any further development on WS2, and that this thread is 15 pages long, I'm locking it at this time. I see no further relevance in this thread continuing.

It should be real obvious that even due to the extreme outcries by the members Corel has chosen not to continue this product.
