Email is grayed in PEX 8.5

Post by mathiaslink »

After working correctly for a while--'send to mail recipient' is now grayed. I'm not sure when this happened but it appears now. Outlook Express (XP OS) is my email client and it launches correctly with other applications.

Any Ideas what causes this anyone?

Check this FAQ: http://www.ulead.com/tech/pex/pex70faq_g02.htm#6

Open Internet Explorer and select Tools->Internet Options->Programs and set the e-mail program to be Outlook Express and click on OK to try again.

And, to make the Send to Mail Recieipent option to be enabled, you need to click on a file or image in PhotoExplorer first.

Hope this helps.

No change

I did confirm that OE was set in IE. In fact I changed it to Outlook then back to OE just to make sure. Email is still grayed. I wonder if this might not be related to some security issue?

Additional info

I'm not sure if this is a hint or not but I can drag from PEX into OE without any problem. Of course I want to use 'SMARTSEND' most of the time so that's not solving anything. Anything else you'd like me to try?

Just to confirm

I did want you to know that I did confirm the selection of an image before attempting to email it. Still grayed.

Refresh

I just wanted to refresh this topic since I still have no idea why smart send isn't ungreyed and not available. Thanks readers.

Strange because it works on my system. All I do is just like the steps in my previous post.

Any other e-mail program installed in your system?

More email

No other email client. All the other apps such as Acrobat and others direct to OE with out a problem. I can drag and drop from PEX to OE but of course I want to take advantage of the Smart Send feature.

This did work for months after purchasing but then it grayed at some point--I can't say when but I do not install a lot of new software on the system.

I thought about pop up blockers and Norton AV and turned them off just to see if I could use it then and it acted the same.

I wonder if there is some registry entry that might affect PEX recognizing my email client.

Thanks for reading by the way--it makes a big difference when I know that someone out there is at least thinking abou the problem.

Since you think it might be some setting PEX is not getting correctly, have you tried to re-install PEX to see if it helps?

Check http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=11923 for the steps to re-install PEX.

Hope this helps.
