Here's Charlies description of Field Order:

When we speak of field order we’re referring to which of the two fields
displays first. This wouldn’t be such an issue if we didn’t have so many
names for the fields: A/B, 1/2, upper/lower, odd/even. These last two
name pairs are the most common. Here’s a helpful trick to keep them
straight: 1 is odd, 2 is even. 1 is above 2, so odd is above even: 1 is upper!
