DIVX Multipass encoding and VS 9

Post by mce »

Hi,

I am trying to use VS9 with the latest DIVX Create Bundle (Divx 6.1.1 Pro Codec). It works fine in 1-pass mode but not in 'N-pass' mode. The first pass is ok but then when you go back and reset it for the 2nd pass, the progress bar comes up, but no video appears in the preview window and then moments later WS9 crashes.

I don't have the exact error codes that windows produces but can recreate the problem if it helps. I am just wondering if any one out there uses this feature successfully in VS9?

I have tried different combinations of things (eg different settings in the DIVX codec, big files, small files, sound, no sound etc) but it makes no difference.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Matt.

Matt,
I have only used single pass HD Divx transcoding with 6.1.1. It works fine.

I think other Divx users reported problems with multi pass with v 6.1 but I thought it had been fixed...

Hi John,

Thanks for that. I don't suppose you fancy trying the multi pass option!!??

Maybe the new VS10+ will work better!

I'll give a go but I will need the video properties of the source and target files.

cool. The source file was a dv type 1. The target....well this didn't seem to make much difference. Any of the divx options had the same affect. The bitrate was 700.
