Question about MF5 slide show features

Post by michaeltee »

Hi,

I'm not quite ready to install the MF5 trial version but in the meantime I have a question. When creating a slide show is it possible to assign specific transitions and pan/zoom effects on a "per slide" basis?

Thanks!

I did install the trial version and, as far as I can see, the answer is NO. (Which seems to me like pretty odd software design...)

I'll second that..

I did d/l the trial just to see what they changed from MF4. The added benefit if you like the slideshows, is they made it easier to add more then one audio file. I still don't like not being able to adjust/alter the pan & zooms. It never fails for me to have 1 or 2 images that the pan/zoom cuts off most of the important part of an image.

Frankly, the lack of control of P&Z is a showstopper for me. It's a nice effect, but I want to use it (i) selectively [not all pictures]; (ii) under my control [varying start and end zoom, and varying start and end location-in-frame].

CD and DVD Picture Show has more P&Z control (though it's in an odd part of the workflow) but doesn't support 16:9, which is also a showstopper for me.

So I'm working in Picasa (basic image fixes), Media Studio Pro (for full P&Z control with 16:9 support) and DMF4 (to put the various shows onto DVD). Clunky, but flexible and it all works.

I'll stray a bit more on this...

I haven't tried a slideshow in MSP8 yet. I have loaded image files, and after being used to VS, which doesn't automatically stretch the photo, I'm having to relearn some techniques. With VS doing slideshows it is nice to have that control over pan/zoom. Then as you stated author it with MF4..
