Does MF 5 conflict with other DVD authoring software

The short answer is YES.
AFAIK - It's the burning, not the authoring, that conflicts.
My system came with Roxio installed. I didn't need Roxio's other features, so I re-formatted my hard drive and started over with only the stuff I wanted. There are other solutions, but that was mine.

I deinstalled Roxio 7.0 Basic and did a fresh install of MF5 and still crashes. I wished I was already in burning part and I would agree there is conflist but I am not even there yet... i am still creating my chapters. Now I am thinking it's my system but I have AMD Athlon 2700, 1 gig RAM, XP2, 256 MB video card, etc...
On my last crash, a windows error message stated unable to read memory?
Also, I tried the search option as well and I gathered the best to test compatibility is to deinstall Roxio.
Please advice

Once you install Roxio 7 (or earlier), then it will save some burning stuffs in your system even after your remove it. The best way to do is to format and reinstall your system.
For Roxio 8 or later, it should be OK.
For other softwares, just don't use any packet writing tools like Nero InCD.
Hope this helps.

Re various comments suggesting possible conflicts between Roxio EMC and MF5, are these specifically aimed at MF5 or is this more of a general MF thing? I ask for two reasons:
1) On my XP machine I'm currently running various components of Roxio EMC 7.5 and 8.0 as well as Ulead MF4 Disc Creator, VideoStudio 9 and PictureShow 4 with no burning or authoring conflicts whatsoever.
2) I've been giving some thought to adding MF5 primarily for the additional menu options. Since MF4 Disc Creator offers more features overall than MF5, Ulead has suggested (somewhere on their site) that MF4 DC users may want to have both MF4 DC and MF5 installed on the same computer (which is exactly what I had in mind). If MF5 is specifically known to cause conflicts with Roxio I'd just as soon pass on it.
Thanks!

Hi Michael,
It's a general case, not aimed at DVDMF 5.
Before Roxio 7.0, there will be some conflicts.
Hope this helps.

>>>The short answer is YES.
The long answer is YES, YES, YES.
Not to mention they do not test their own updates.
Roxio software runs OK on MAC Machines.
I wish ulead would start porting it's code to the new MAC's that are using the Intel x86 based chipsets.
Since MAC's are more hardware dependent I think that would be a good thing.
And, bring more competition to the MAC software and bring the prices down.
Only a wish, probably very expensive to do.
