Some wrong happens to my pc
I'm a newbie.
Nature of the problem:
I looked up the CPU Usage and PF usage in Task Manager while using Video Studio 8. I observed that after some time (some 1 to 5 minutes) that I use Video Studio 8 for editing, I notice that my PF usage bar goes up gradually. Then suddenly after another couple of minutes the computer says:
"Insufficient memory"
After that, I wont be able to use the program. The computer becomes slow and sometimes I cant open the other programs in my computer. I'm wondering if my Video Studio 8 has a bug or.. my computer needs more free space.
System information
Not sure if this is what you're asking for but here:
Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
2.66 GHz. 1.00 GB of RAM
My Drive C has free space of 3.85 GB out of 74.5 GB

If it's the original, unpatched version of UVS 8, then yes, there is a known problem with a memory leak. You can download a fix for that here:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp80.htm
The patch to V8.01 will take care of the memory leak.
100% CPU utilization during many Videostudio operations is quite normal, video editing it is very processor-intensive.

Hi,
There was a setting under "Preferences" that affected the memory and swap file usage which was corrected in an update.
It was pointed out by J_Warner I believe.
I can't remember the setting so you may need to experiment with that.
If you don't need it set the "Undo" setting to 3 or less, instant playback and playback on preview screen only.
I know that having "perform non-square pixel rendering" checked either on or off (I think it was off). Caused large physical memory usage which then windows would starting paging. I think that was the real bug.
Hope this helps,
MD

Umm.. I was able to download and install
VideoStudio 8 Update Pack
For Retail and ESD only
I downloaded
VideoStudio 8 SE Update Pack
For OEM bundle SE versions only
and
VideoStudio 8 Daylight Savings Time Patch
but I cant seem to install them. It says:
Installer cannot find Ulead Video 8 Patch on your machine. Please install Ulead Video Studio Patch first.
I'm not really sure how to do this.

They are different versions. You obviously have the full version as you state you have it on CD.natifa wrote:Umm.. I was able to download and install

The "SE" version is a restricted version normally given away "free" with some hardware such as a camcorder or TV card etc.
The OEM version is another restricted version that comes "Free" with a new computer.
