Menu template problem, Please HELP!!!
I'm at a loss what to do. I am trying to create my own menu. It will not let me. I pick up my own background pic and sound and after burning it will only show the "classic" menu. I bought VS9 and I can't believe there is no solution. Can someone help?

Hi Temperpolk,
Before burning your disk is the menu that you created and want present? Do you use the Preview before going to thte burn stage? Is your menu showing up there?
Did you appy any updates or patches? There are a couple for VS 9. Can you explain the steps you are going through to create your menu? It does sound like you are clicking on the add background image, and audio. Did you add several chapters, and menus for them? It could be that the classic menu is the main menu, which you can change also, but you have added your personalized one to a chapter. Look at the top of the preview window it has a box and it should tell you if it is the Main menu or a chapter. You can click on the drop down arrow and select the different menus that you would have...

I have tried everything. I made sure that the pic I selected was good for all menus and the sound file as well. It was working fine until I created my own menu, then it went down hill. I'm not sure what's happening, I want to delete my files so I can get back to where I was before
What is most frustrating is than when I preview it previews fine...

How did you create your own menu? Did you use Steve's tutorial do create your own menu? There may be something that you missed while creating it, that would cause the menu to not work. But I don't understand, if your pics, and music is there up to burning, how VS could possibly burn something else? There isn't any way that I know of for that to happen..

Ok, I'm still thinking on this...
Have you cleaned out your temp folders? Try this.. You will need to make sure you can see Hidden Files/Folders..
1. Go to C:\Documents & Settings\{your user name}\Local Settings\Temp,
Delete all files inside the Temp folder.
2. Go to C:\Windows\Temp... Again delete all files inside the temp folder.
Next thing is when you first created/burned your project did you save it, and is it reloading it when you go to the burn module?
Do you have more then one template available to you? (I hope you do)..Then when you get to the stage where you are going to create your menu, try selecting another template from the list first. Then proceed to customize it by selecting your own background image/video, and music. Also if you are not using a motion menu, make sure the Motion Menu box is unchecked.

i too am new at VS9, and may be way off the mark here - but double check the menu you are creating is a Title menu or a Chapter menu - if it is a chapter menu - and you have enabled the use of a title menu (advanced settings tab on the menu create screen) then you will see the title menu first when you burn your project - and it will still be generic (classic) if you have not made any changes to it. - to use your Chapter menu, go into the Advanced Settings tab and uncheck Title Menu.
