I have several pictures that are different sizes from wallet up.
What is best to scan them in to get a clear pic? Is it best to go by size, pixals or another. Wallet pictures can be a little tricky. I dont' want to scan them to large, but want to make sure they are clear as clear can be when coverted over to dvd and shown on a tv or projector?
thanks Bruce

Most important would be the aspect ratio. If you want your image to fill the screen, with no black bars around it, crop the images into the right aspect ratio.
What I would do if I had small images would be to have them in a smaller size than the TV screen and maybe show more than 1 at a time. That is entirely up to you though.
I have achieved the best results with 1600 x 1200 px bmp for a 4:3 aspect ratio PAL DVD. I started from 8 MP digital photos though, not scans.
You would have to run a few test scans to see what works best.

small pics
Sometimes I use the motion part of it, and it may involve old school pictures. When Scanning them I want to make sure they are clear without enlarging the pictures to a to big of a file. The smaller the size picture the more I can put on a dvd. I have a box of several pictures, both color and b&w. Color can be troublesome if you have to many and too big of files. Though on like 8 by 10 I reduce there size. I generally don't fill the frame, sometimes it can be the width but usually it is at the max height.

Don't forget that a digital image doesn't have a size in inches or cm, it has a certain number of pixels (picture elements) by a certain number of pixels. It's size depends on the resolution. For display on a TV or monitor, a resolution of 72 ppi is sufficient. Whether you look at a tini Mini TV or a 72cm large TV, the frame size (PAL) is the same 720 x 576 pixels.
