I've been using MF 4 for about a year now to cut out commercials from about 150-200 hours of recorded TV shows. I ran into 4 major problems:
1) When playing the DVD, the TV show would freeze. I thought this was a result of cutting out the commercials, but it wasn't. I tried burning the raw mpeg2 file to a dvd and it still froze;
2) Sometimes, after advancing the show using the jog bar (ie. 0.5X, 1.0X, etc) the mouse pointer would get stuck in the jog bar window. No matter where you moved the mouse, the pointer would not move beyond the jog bar window. The only option was to kill MF via Task Manager;
3) Fast export to DVD compliant file would crash if the mpeg2 file contained I and P frames only and the file was large (7+ GB);
4) Fast export to native format would crash always.

I purchased and downloaded MF 5 this weekend and burned about 10 hours of TV shows. Happily, it appears that all of these bugs have been fixed.
