Burning HDV2 or WMV HD to RED laser 4.7 DVD with MF5

Post by Eugene1 »

I understand that Toshiba HD-DVD will play WMV HD and MPEG4 from a 4.7Gb DVD disk in 1920x1080 i

I have a Sony HC1 camera and now burn regular MPEG4 HD, WMV HD DVDs in file form to play them on my computer in HD.

Will MF5 allow to burn the HD from my HC1 HD camera , with the proper protocol , onto a 4.7 DVD, like WMV HD ?

That way I can play them in HD on the HD-DVD player but need not buy a HD-DVD burner for my computer.

Thanks

I suggest you download the trial version of MF5 and see what it will do.

I have a HC1 and use MF5 to capture video from it, MF5 capture program is one of the best I've used fro capturing HD. It's smoother and it seems a little faster creating HD video.

What you are doing with your HD files probable will not work with HD DVD or Blue Ray. The file structure is the same but the file folder/file names are different.

I created a HD DVD folder on my hard drive, I couldn't find any current players that would play it back.

Thank you Tyamade, I will give that a try. Are there restrictions on the functionality or is it the whole program but time lilited only?

I used the MF5 trial to experiment with my HC1, what I did was to capture some clips and made a virtual HD DVD on my hard drive. As I said I couldn't find any software to play it back, other than that everything worked fine.

The trial software is fully functional, however the retail package is almost 2 1/2 times larger download and you also get a content pack, for menus etc.

Hi,

tyamada,

>>I created a HD DVD folder on my hard drive, I couldn't find any current players that would play it back.

This is posted on the ulead website for HD players.
Look for Item #5 at towards the bottom of the web page.
