I did a search for this but all I came up with is someone answering a similar question saying "use the search tool." Which I thought was ironic, not really amusing though since I'd like to know the answer.
I cannot figure out how to have the subtitles not showing by default whenever I open up the application.
I'm using consumer DVD's.
NTSC
Win XP Pro. Ulead DVD moviefactory 3 came with my dvd player, a pioneer r/rw.
Thanks for your help.
How to set default subtitles to 'off' in dvd player 1.1?
What? Are you talking about the DVD player that comes with Movie Factory??? There's an option button to turn 'em off.I cannot figure out how to have the subtitles not showing by default whenever I open up the application.... I'm using consumer DVD's.
This computer doesn't have the program, so I can't give you the details right now... If that's the question, maybe someone else can answer, of I can check it later.

Are you referring to "closed captions" ? If so you need to open up the Preferences dialogue box. I have DVD Player 2.0, it has an icon located to the right side, that looks like a wrench. Click on it and the Preferences dialogue box opens. On the first tab is a check box beside closed captions, uncheck it.
I looked for anything refering to subtitles in the DVD player and could not find one.

Yes, I am talking about Ulead DVD Player, version 1.1. It comes with MovieFactory 3.
Yes, there are a few ways (I've found five) to turn subtitles off or to cycle through the available subtitle options. However, they are back on every time I launch the application. And I can't figure out how to have them off by default. Very irritating.

Not closed captions, no. Subtitles. I'm aware of the dialog box you're referring to.
