Art Texture Plugin Installation Problems
Art Texture Plugin Installation Problems
I've downloaded art texture from 3 different sites and can't seem to get it to work.
Gives me the following message:
Unable to execute
C:Documents..........\locals~1\Temp\pw1fe~tmp\setup.exe\sms
I had it on my computer before and it worked like a charm.. but I had to format my disk (sob sob)

What version of Windows do you have? What program are you trying to use the plugin with - PhotoImpact, Photoshop, PSP? When installing ArtTexture, it needs the plugin folder of one of those programs.
Based on what you've told us so far, try this..
Delete that temp folder. Delete the ArtTexture folder in the Program Files folder. Reboot your computer. Make sure you have Admin rights when you log back in. Run the Installation file again.
If you still get an error, please tell us exactly when this message pops up. That is, how far did the installation go? As we can't see what's happening on your PC from here, we need to rely on what you tell us to try troubleshooting.

Ok, I've tried your first suggestion, didn't work
I did as you told me in your second message, still no luck.
I am using windows XP and Corel PSP 10
The file extract about halfway and then comes up with the message as I showed in my post. When I click OK, it gives me the following message..
Unable to execute the specific command line
Thanks for your help so far

Got it downloaded now, after two days..lol, but when I try and open it in PSP10, it gives me the following error
Unable to load APSmgart.dll
The file is there, I've checked.
I found someone on the net that had the same problem in 2004, but all is in Dutch and as far as I can see they don't say if they fixed the problem or not, but then again, my knowledge of Dutch is VERY limited

Did you find it in the folder C:\Program Files\Ulead ArtTexture.Plugin perchance? That's where it should be.
Click "Start" and click on "Run." Type regedit and hit enter. Navigate to the folder below... It should hopefully be there.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Apsmgart.dll
There should be two values shown on the right pane of the registry editor:
(Default) REG_SZ C:\Program Files\Ulead ArtTexture.Plugin\Apsmgart.dll
Path REG_SZ C:\Program Files\Ulead ArtTexture.Plugin
Is this what you found?

I assume "it" means the dll file and the registry entries? If you can provide full details, that will help us out much more here.
Open the Control Panel in Windows and open "Add Remove Programs." Ulead ArtTexture Plugin should be there. If it is, uninstall it.
Reinstall it again, and when reinstalling, make sure you set the plugin folder path to C:\Program Files\...\Paint Shop Pro\Plugins. Click the browse button and navigate to that folder to be sure. Otherwise don't change any options in the installation.
Hopefully this will work this time...

Good morning
Day four of struggling, lol
The ULead Plugin isn't in my list of programs. As I was saying,a friend downloaded it and transfered the files to me (one by one). I am no expert, but I believe he missed out on some files and maybe that is why I can't find anything in the registry or programs.
I think I am going around in circles. The main problem is still extracting the file after I've downloaded it from the ULead site.
I think once I can resolve that and extract the file myself, it should work. I had it before and it worked well.
This takes me back to my original message.
I've started again and downloaded it to C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro X\PlugIns.
I double click on the AT10f (the little box icon) I click run, and then finish.. the file starts extracting and then pops up with the following message:
Unable to execute:
C:DOCUME~1\JamilahC\LOCALS~1|Temp\pwd5~tmp\SETUP.EXE/SMS
When I click OK, it says:
Unable to execute the specified command line!
It must be something in my computer and not the file that is at fault.

You say a friend transferred the files to you, but you downloaded it from the Ulead site too?
Don't put the installer file in the plugins folder. If it's still there, remove it. Make a new folder on your C drive and call it "Downloads" and put it there instead.
If it's an installer problem, maybe try this one. It works, just used it a couple days ago. (link removed) Save it to that downloads folder, and just run it.

Thanks for the replies guys.
It is not an installer problem. I've donwloaded it from different sites.. and I had a friend downloading it. I also downloaded it on my husbands computer. It works on both their computers. So it is definetly something wrong in my computer.
I've contacted ULead support about 3 days ago , but received no reply.
I've also downloaded now from the site Robert gave me and I've used your suggestions. I still get the same message... can't execute, etc

I'm out of bright ideas on this one... Let's hope Ulead Tech Support gets back to you on this.
You say you're running the installer as an Administrator. That's good... Disabled anti-virus software, anything like ZoneAlarm firewall... Other than deleting that temp folder mentioned in the error message, and trying yet again, I'm stumped.
