Designed for win95 but worked perfectly on win98, however I have just loaded it on my new PC on Win XP Home and it all works but the preview window has greyed out when adjusting picture size. Is there a nerd out there old enough or bright enough to provide a fix please

iPhotoPlus a vintage classic needing a fix for XP
I received an iPhotoPlus4 programme as part of my scanner package, 7 or 8 years ago. I still prefer it to any of the modern programmes. It is minimalist but does everything I want and nothing that I don't want. In my opinion, this is a classic programme on which Ulead built their reputation.

iPhotoPlus4 on XP
Thanks Heinz. I have already tried the compatability wizard but there was no change. I never have much luck with any Wizards, they always seem to be on their own ego trip!
My fault for sticking with a vintage programme. I find the modern ones too cluttered with over fancy control buttons many of which only produce unwanted childish effects while important features like incremental manual picture turn have been overlooked. Also I guess I have just got used to the old prog and all it's quirks and it is like an old friend, dependable and predictable.

Thanks videoman. I am sure your solution would indeed work but it would be a large hammer to crack a small egg. I am not brave enough to go down that road for such a nit picking problem, which I could live with.
Nice friendly and helpful forum and I will hang in for a few more days in case the original Ulead programmer awakes from his grave in a generous mood!!

Thanks vidoman, don't know why I didn't think of that. As a matter of fact, I run a dual boot system, though it's 2 x XP Pro SP2. The reason for the dual boot in my case is the fact that I want to run a system, as lean as possible, for video editing. That means no other programs or modules running. If I want to do some word processing, spreadsheet etc. I switch over to the second boot.
It's not hard to do if you start with a fresh HD or have a partition that you could install Win98 into. A program like Partition Magic could also help to partition an already populated disk. The only other option I could see is to finally dump that vintage program.

iphotoplus
Plusfour:
I realize this is a little late but, I have been running iphotoplus 1.2 on three XP machines with no problems right off the CD.
It came with my Mustek CDII scanner back when I was using Win95. I have since loaded it into 98, 2000 and now XP Pro and Home with no extra effort and no problems.
I gave up the SCSI scanner but, like you, always enjoyed the simplicity and features of iphotoplus - especially its ability to stitch, which is hard to find in editing software that doesn't have a steep learning curve.
I'd be glad to send you an "archive " copy if you'd like.

Re: iphotoplus
I would like to notify you that no matter how old the software is, it's still a copyrighted software.nosage wrote:I'd be glad to send you an "archive " copy if you'd like.
