Limitations of Demo (MF-4)

Post by OneBigNewbie »

Is there any limitation of the Demo compared to the registered version ?
I am trying the Demo version (MF4).

So far, I have found the following:

(a) I tried to create a series of menus, and I cannot change the top
menu title. "My Title" is shown and cannot be edited.
(b) I tried to burn a DVD-R, and there seems to be nothing going on
after I hit the burn button. My DVD writer does not even blink.

Appreciate your help.

There are too many problems with Movie Factory 4, since Movie Factory 5 is now available you should download the trial version of it.

I have the retail version of MF5, it seems to work better then MF4.

The trial version of DMF5 has problems. It crashes frequently when pressing the MultiTrim or enhance video buttons.

Limitations of MF(4)

Wow !!!

You guys have scared me. I was thinking of paying to register after a successful trial... now... This is exactly how a software horror story begins.

Here are some more problems, while I am on the subject:
(a) I have about 30 clips of my friends band playing different songs,
and I want to put together a DVD containing the songs, one song linked
to one menu, and four songs per menu screen. I cannot build the menu for the first song in the list. When, reviewing the menus, I can see that as soon as the DVD is loaded, the first song comes on, and then the first 4-menu screen come up. How should I build my menu to make it work.

(b) I have one Gig of memory on my HP desktop, and while reviewing the menus, my computer hanged, and said that I have run out of memory.

Also, I have just found MF3 that comes with a hardware device I bought. Is there any limitations of that version ?

I appreciate your reply.

The trial versions are not limited. (Apart from only working for 30 days)

Whilst it is obviously true that a number of people do have problem with DVDMF4, there are also many of us for whom it basically works as it is supposed to. Having said that, it would make sense to think about version 5 , as you would expect it to include a number of bug fixes. Try 4 for a few weeks and keep an eye here for reports of problems with 5.

Re. menus. From your description, you seem to have checked the box "Use first clip as introductory video". Deselect that.

Read the following link which describes a similar menu structure to the one that you want. And there are other menu threads on the forum which you can find using the forum's search facility.

The full version will come with more menus.

Be wary of V5 though. Considering that I have used successfully DMF1, 2, 3 and 4 over the years and this is the first version that is crashing on me, I am leery to spend money on this one.
