No Audio At All when DVD is Burned, Flickering

Post by PassagesNW »

I fear I am having a "Senior Moment"!

As you know doubt will construe from this Post, I am new to editing...

I am using Media Studio Pro and am having a problem with burning a DVD. Basically I want a DVD that will play 16:9 High Quality Video on both computer and TV DVD units.

Tape that I used for editing was from Canon XL-2, 16:9, AVI. Have added .WAV background sound. Editing, sound insertion, fades, and the like are all fine. Editing was the easy part...

My problems start when I try to burn the DVD...
Have tried saving in MPEG and AVI formats prior to burn, have gone through instructions many times, and have (actually) read the manual!!!... I know I am overlooking something very BASIC but can't figure out what...

The previews , played just prior to burning, in Media Studio and DVD Workshop look and sound great BUT when I burn to a DVD (using a NEC DVD+-RW 3530A DVD/CD (using DVD-R Disc) Internal Recorder, Win XP Pro, Dell 670 Workstation, Audigy 2ZS Sound Card, N-Vidia 1400 video card) I get Video that "flickers" at the bottom of the image and absolutely NO AUDIO AT ALL (Ditto on TV image).

In "Opening" the DVD file I find the Audio Folder is empty.

If some compassionate soul out there could take me under their wing I would appreciate it if you could send me a list of the specific :!: settings I would use to accomplish: High Quality Video, 16:9 Format, NSTC, Stereo Sound, that can be played both on computer (LCD Display(s)) and on LCD, Conventional, and Plasma TV's.

Thanks, in advance, for any any assistance... I know I am at about 8 on a scale of 10 in the "Dumb" range and that I am missing something basic... could really use some help.

Hi Senior Moment

First of all you have posted your questions to the Video Studio forum and Media Studio and the other one. Are you unsure as to which forum to use. I see you have posted to three.

Unfortunately I do not use Media Studio.

If you were using Video Studio I would advise you to read
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... e0190c5161

Worth a read anyway.

As for the TS audio folder, don’t worry this folder is redundant and no longer contains any files.
The audio stream is contained / part of the TS Video folder.

Video Template:-
I am in Pal country but the template for top quality ntsc video would be:-

MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: 8000 kbps
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

The audio part could change to Digital Dolby but both options should be ok.

This is good for a video up to 60 minutes long.

Hope this helps a little.

Keep asking the questions, you will get the answers, the forums are very good.

Good Luck

Trevor
