Can anyone tell me if MF4 installs any Sony stuff? What i'm seeing is a "SONY Digital Images" folder in the "Program Files\Common Files" folder that contains an "MGEG_TS" folder with a file: "TSSPLT.AX". Also the Registry is chock full of entries for Sony that I hadn't noticed before. I also see a "Drivers" folder on Root of C:\ with "MICROMV" folder containing the following files: "SONYMPEG.CAT", "SonyMPEG.inf", "SONYMPEG.SYS".
At first I thot I got hit with their rootkit, but after diags it appears not. I do not have a Viao and do not even have a Sony drive. Never used any of their software that i know of. I do not have a Sony camcorder (don't have ANY camcorder
) so i can't figure out where else this came from. There is nothing related in the "Add or Remove Programs" in CP and I surely don't have anything listed in the Programs folder relating to any Sony stuff. I am the only user of this system.
Am I wrong? Did they get me with rootkit along with some other stuff?
Oh, I also have the VS9 but I didn't notice anything like that with that one as I had installed that first.
