To add insult to injury I was billed in the uro currency. That put the price at $164.36 Canadian compared to $116 Canadian had it been billed in U.S. dollars.

I have a program called ProShow Gold put out by Photodex and you can upgrade for free with them up until a year.

They are going to hear from me.

In fairness Ron started this thread off on Friday 17 March which is over a Month ago. It has also been mentioned in several other threads including every single post that I have made as it forms part of my signature where I am doing my best to advertise the current Ulead competition where you can win a copy.
Unfortunately I wasn't much into this board until I started working with it and ran into a problem.

I apologize about my fume regarding the price. I got my invoice out and it was broken down into Canadian dollars and in addition to the program I had ordered the disks and CD tutorial. The EURO sure threw me though when I got my bill from Master Card.

For some reason I can't get into the regular Ulead site right now but someone posted the comparison between VideoStudio 9 and VS10 Plus. Is there a comparison between the higher end VS 9 and the new 10 plus?

So if I want the most recent program the upgrade is going to cost me $60 plus S&H is $32. U.S. (about $100 Canadian). The S&H is certainly a real kicker but I do like to have the CD's.

Oh so there was only one version of 9? I thought there were two.

Is it possible to apply a video effect to a chroma keyed video without affecting the area that was keyed out in VS10+? For example, I was going to try to make a 3D video with VS9, using the color shift filter, but when the red and blue were shifted to the sides, the middle was green, and the chroma key took that out with the rest of the green. If my description's too confusing, I could post a picture of it.

I think a picture may help.

UVS 10 is the first version to offer 2 editions around the world, except Japan. There are 2 UVS editions in Japan since UVS 8 but they are in Japanese only.

Hope this helps.

Does it work?? I bought MSP8 and DVDMF5. MSP8 works to a point but we are still waiting for SP1 to fix some major features - the Audi editor is one. As for DVDMF5 this is a complete waste of space. MF4 works great but MF5 does not produce Chapters automatically and when you select Chapters manually you cannot change the thumbnail.
I have not found one single Ulead product that works with Windows Media Centre. As soon as installed the TV signal is lost - so video capture is a no no - when the product is un-installed the TV signal comes back. Ulead have acknowledged that Windows Media Centre is a problem therefore am very interested to know if this now works.

I do not wish to put people off from purchasing VS10 but time and time again I have updated straight away and found that I have to then wait, sometimes several months, for the first SP. I have been very loyal to Ulead over many years and spent alot of money with them but have now got to say enough is enough. Plenty of good features is one thing but what good is that if they dont work?

Yes, UVS 10 supports Windows Media Center Edition. Also it supports MS-DVR video format that is available on Windows MCE.

Check http://www.ulead.com/vs/sysreq.htm for more details.

Best regards,

According to Ulead's Press Release http://www.ulead.com.tw/ulead/UDNews/pr ... leases.htm it is suppose to be on the shelves by the end of April. So that leaves about 10 days...?

The difference ie; a comparison can be found here:

DVD Movie Factory 5 has been announce a month ago and the box version is still not available.

Hopefully we won't need to wait for the box version of for VS10+ too much longer. When something is announced it should be ready for retail....

Steve -- thanks for that. Glad to hear of the compatibility, not that I use Media Center, but I know a lot of people now do.

DGray -- I can understand your frustration, but with VS9, at least, if you look at the system requirements, Media Center is not mentioned as one of the compatible OS. Can't speak for the rest of their programs as I have absolutely no problems with MF 2/3/4 and now 5, much less MSP8, whose audio, in particular, I love. And I hasten to add, I have no link to Ulead apart from using the above three programs in particular. (I also have DVD Workshop, but confess quite happily that I just can't understand it, much less get it to work!!)

DVDMF 5 BOX is not been made available because of this:

http://www.ulead.com.tw/ulead/UDNews/pr ... e=News.htm

UVS 10 does not have such issue.

Hope this helps.

This is great news and would be very tempted to upgrade espacially if it does all that it says it does. Hey - just thought - would that mean I would have to un-install all my existing Ulead products to get it to work with Windows MCE?
