Ulead DVD Workshop has encountered a problem and needs to cl

Post by rarmond2005 »

When I get to the "Burn Project to Disc" window, check the box to create DVD folders and Disc Image File and click the burn button it will start converting files, until it reaches "Converting audio MENU". That when I get the Microsoft pop-up: " Ulead DVD Workshop has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This happens on 3 of my PC's. Even on my older version of DVD Workshop SE.

I tryed the following:
removing my background audio from my menu,
Breaking my project up in half to reduce the file capacity of my project,
moving all of my files to an external Harddrive (made sure the letter drive was consistant with the location of my video files and project,
burning it on a different PC (made sure the letter drive was consistant with the location of my video files and project,
I downloaded the patches (updates from Ulead),
I removed the DWS_TS files it created and started over, (why it creates DWS_TS, instead of VIDEO_TS???)
I did the project completely from scratch,
I removed Service Pack 2
I tryed lower speeds

Whenever I've had crashes, it was caused by a corrupt MPEG file. I suspect that there is a problem with your source video... you've eliminated almost everything else. :?

What is the file format? If it's an MPEG, did you edit it in MPEG format? (Simply editing MPEGs can corrupt them.)

In my case, it was what I call "sneaky corruption". The file played-back fine with Windows Media Player.
(why it creates DWS_TS, instead of VIDEO_TS???)
That's some sort of temporary or intermediate file. You should get AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files also. It seems that your system is crashing before the ViIDEO_TS file is made.

My video files are .avi files. They all played back in DVD workshop menu window.

It is not really very helpful to say that your video files are avi. It is what is inside the avi wrapper that counts and we need to know how you obtain the files. For example, if they are derived from WMV or DivX, then problems of conversion to MPEG would be easy to understand. However, the most common cause of this kind of problem may be a one or two frame gap in the video or, possibly, the use of an unsuitable MP3 file in the audio.

I had edit my video clips through canopus DV storm 2. Then feed it back through my video camera to record the edited footage. I then captured these video clips in DVWorkshop 2.
I will try and do it over again. (video clips and capture).
