Infamous 5213 Err on a VS9 burn. Possible HotBurn conflict?

I have sporatic problems burning to my Iomega SuperDVD often getting the 5213 error using VS7 and now VS9. I'll get 25-75% through the burn then barf. Seems like the problem is worse using 16x disks but that could be a red herring. I was burning direct but now see that I should do a video file first, then in turn burn that. Will give that a try.

In various posts I see a known conflict with the Nero InCD product. I was just curious if anyone knows of similiar conflicts with the Hotburn product, which I have and use for general cd/dvd writing.

I had similar problems using the same DVD burner until one day I just tried a Ricoh DVD+R (8X) disc where I had been attempting to use a variety of makes of DVD-R discs before - and BINGO - my problems vanished and I was surprised to find that I could burn DVD after DVD as long as they were alll Ricoh DVD+R. I always restrict my DVD burn to 1X anyrate so I don't knoww how relevant the actual disc write speed is in this equation.

Worth trying a few different makes of DVD and maybe +R and -R as well just to see.
