Ulead and Nova

Post by jolo »

:D I have a question.

I have recently learned that there are two companies that market Photoimpact, Ulead and Nova Development.
http://www.novadevelopment.com/products ... fault.aspx

Apparently Nova Development takes care of the retail sales end of Photoimpact. They have a version of Photoimpact 10 PRO that they recently released. I do believe that their are differences in the Photoimpact sold by Nova Development and those sold by Ulead.

Since Nova Development is sold in boxes, at retail stores, (they do take online orders to ship the boxed retail version), that Nova's Photoimpact might contain some features that are more aimed at home users.

But Ulead markets to direct download customers, corporate and education customers. So their version of Photoimpact might have a few less goodies ? and the figure that people will use their version of the software in a commercial way and that their customers will have access to some form of tech support.

I am making assumtions on the content of the software, so PLEASE correct me if I am wrong

I was wondering about the relationship between Nova and Ulead and
  • *Is Nova Development's Photoimpact 10 Pro a better product than Ulead's Photoimpact 11 or 10?
*Would anyone know if the technical and customer support for Nova's Photoimpact differs, is (hopefully) superior or inferior to Ulead's.
*Is it the same team that supports both products.

Thanks,

Afaik the Nova's PI is technically the same as Ulead's. The only differences are addons and packaging.
