I upgraded from vs8 to vs9 yesterday by download. After the install I was told to make sure that I downloaded the following plugins (I'm not sure if they were addins or plugins or whatever).
VS9 Control pack
Smart sound
Cool 3D 35E
DVD diskrecorder 2.1
DVD menu bonus pack
I'm glad I wrote them down because I didn't have time right after the install. There might have been links on the screen but I don't remember.
Any help appreciated.

Can't find plugins promised after download of vs9 upgrade

You should have gotten a link to the files when you paid for Video Studio.
If you didn't, open VS9 and select Video Studio Editor, once the editor has opened on top file menu open tools then smart download. You will get a list of files, check all the boxes and download.
