dvd mf will not launch

Hi guys,
I've scanned through this forum and it seems like quite a few people have similar issues but none of the solutions i have seen seem to work for me...
i'm not really a techie so this may be all over the place and i appologise in advance!
it's a long story, so here goes...
bought dvd mf4 in january, installed it and have had problems ever since!
no matter what i do, the program will not launch...whether it be (1) via the launcher (which does appear) but then does not seem to do anything appart from disappear and then reappear again if i select anything from it. (2) if i directly pick something from the program menu e.g. dvd authoring.
i've tried to reinstall the program again to no avail, (including cleaning out the registry).
now here's the funny thing, it did work for a while where i had full functionality of the program and was able to author some dvd's successfully, but it now has stopped working again. tech support have not replied to my numerous emails and to be honest i'm pulling my hair out!!!

any help would be greatly appreciated,

You might want to try this from the Ulead VS9 website, even though this is supposed to be for VS9 it seems to be related to Windows XP SP2.

* I keep clicking the VideoStudio 9 icon but VideoStudio 9 won't launch. What do I do?
o This is due to Data Execution Prevention for WinXP with Service Pack 2. Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention . Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select then click Add . Locate vstudio.exe in the VideoStudio folder in Program files and select Open . Click Apply then restart your computer.

Substitute vstudio.exe with dvdmf.exe in the dvdmf folder.
