I'm hoping there will be a quick easy way to adjust the volume of an entire audio clip,
There is! Use an audio filter in Effects Manager!
True, that does work, but I've seen much quicker, more intuitive ways to do this in just about every other piece of software I've seen. The fine-adjustment of audio levels in MSP 8.0 is rather cumbersome:
Apply filter.
Go into filter's options.
Adjust filter.
Hit OK.
NOW check the level.
Repeat if necessary.
It would be so much easier and much more efficient if we were able to:
Adjust level.
Check level.
Repeat if necessary.
Right now, we can do something similar by digging into the begin and end keyframes of each clip, but that's difficult because one has to zoom in all the way, find the begin keyframe while being careful not to click the keyframe of the clip before, and then do the same with the clip's end keyframe.
I'm not sure of the purpose of having audio clips default to having the two keyframes. Leveling (0 or 1 keyframes) should come first, with the option to add effects by adding a second keyframe.
All of this goes out the window, of course, if I have failed to find the easy, one-click way of leveling entire clips that exists in this program. If it exists, please tell me. Otherwise, if I want to finely adjust a clip's level, having to make about 6 clicks each time I want to make a tiny adjustment, then check that adjustment, is not easy. Alt+Click is not used for anything right now, why not use it to bring down the whole audio line?
Just my two cents.
