Ulead VideoStudio reboot PC

Post by washa »

Hi, I have a problem with Ulead VideoStudio 9:
(sorry, but my english isn't good :( )

I start working and everything is OK, but in a few minutes after start system is rebooted. I formated my disk, install clean Windows XP, install UVS9 and it do again, still rebooting my PC...

I have:
P4 3.0Ghz HT, 1GB DDR2, Radeon x1600pro 256MB
Windows XP SP2 at WD 320GB ATA 100 7200rpm,
I try working directory on same WD320GB and then on second HDD Maxtor 300GB SATA2 10000rpm... still same, system is rebooting again.

I try swapfile 1500MB, 2000MB, 3000MB, still rebooting...

DMA is enabled, harddrivers are new (1month and 6month)

I try UVS9 on my girlfriend's PC and it do it again, but don't reboot PC - we see "blue death screen" and we must use hard reset...

Every other software run OK, only UVS9 still crash and reboot PC...
I don't know what I must do when I want to use UVS9 :(
Can you help me please?
Thanks, Washa, Czech Republic

It seems to me your have a hardware/driver/memory problem.
I bulid PCs and am familiar with a rebooting computer.
Since you have a PCI Express motherboard, which is on the cutting edge you may have a conflict with your video card, I'm not sure there is a way to cure your problem.
Check at www.ati.com for the latest drivers for your video card.

There is a way to trouble shoot your problem but it is very involved.

How are you installing VideoStudio 9?

Is it a downloaded trial or ESD or retail version on CD.

Sounds to me since 2 machines are doing this you have a corrupted installation. Bad installation media.

(Or, you also built the 2nd machine ). Just kidding :)

maddrummer3301 might be right about a bad download, if that is the case, if you have a boxed version the CD may be bad.

If you did download the program try to download it again, remove the old installation and reinstall.
