Easy building menus and tansitions

Post by temperpolk »

Fist of all... hey every one. I'm writing this even as I am burning my first project with Sudio. I have to give props to ULead for a most excellent trial version. Nothing really is held back in the trial versio. So far I am very impressed.

For now I have a couple of questions. My first one , I searched the forums about a seemless fade transition (like on Windowns Movie Maker) and I think I got my answer. Sill, I'm reservng my judgement on that one.

The other is why (oh why!!!!) does the "burn" side of the project fail if your laptop automatically goes into sleep mode? It is very frustating. So, I've modyfied my settings and now I make sure that I NEVER EVER touch the ENTER key. It's a whole lot of grief if you do.

Hi Temperpolk, welcome to the forums, :)

I'm not sure what you are looking for in a seemless fade, (I haven't looked at Windows Movie Maker in a long time, maybe I should ). If you are talking about a cross-fade that is possible. It's located in the FX folder of the Transition Effects. You can further customize the duration by using the trim handles on either end of the blue bar below the preview window.

Why does the burn side fail if you laptop goes into sleep mode? Because when your laptop goes into sleep, it is barely on. It shuts everything down. Sleep mode or hibernation, takes a snapshot of your current working state, then basically shuts down. When you wake it, then it knows where you left off and comes back to that state.

It is best to insure there are no apps working in the background, that tends to eat up resources. Video editing is very demanding on a system, and needs as much resources as can be mustered. Following the Recomended Procedures, located in one of the Stickies on this forum will help prevent future problems.

You know yours is one of few new posts that come here with praise of the program, and is a delight to see.

Of course! Thanks Vidoman! Duh... sometimes I'm so stupid. Well, my project burnt beautifully and the results were absolutely great.

Now if only I can solve my aspect ratio problem (doing some reasearch here in the forums), I think ULead may have a new customer.
