I have loaded some video shot on a Sony 8 cm dvd into Studio 8 but there is no sound coming through. There is sound on the video clip (I can hear it in Nero Express). I have copied the video onto my hard disk but same result. Any clues?
Thanks

The Sony DVD Cams record in Dolby sound (AC-3). VS 8 is the previous version of Video Studio and did not natively support Dolby. There was a Dolby plugin available for 8 a while back but not sure if it still is. The cost was about the same as upgrading to VS9.
With the release of VS9 Dolby became natively supported by Video Studio.
Nero has Dolby decoder included, that is why you can hear sound.
