My VS 6 is not compatable with Windows XP. It has been an invaluable program to capture still images from my old analogue VHS tapes. If I upgrade to VS 9 will that program be compatable with XP and will it again be successful in capturing still images from anologue VHS tapes.
Many thanks in anticipation.

You can try two things.
1. Find the VS6 executable file (in programs files somewhere!), right click and choose "properties." Select the "compatability" tab and choose to run the program as "win98" or whatever you know it runs on. See if that works.
2. Download the trial version of VS9 and give it a run to see if it suits your puposes. If it does and you want to purchase the full product be sure to fully remove the trial version first. There have been some problems reported by people who have either attempted to activate the trial with an auth code or who have tried to install the full version on top of the trial.
It is better to get the boxed version as it gives you the "repair" function in case an installation gets corrupted.
