My question is two fold, and have done a search to no avail.
Making clips(NTSC) are no problem with DVD MovieFactory 3.
1-When the clips are done and I want to upload them to my computer, how do I get a thumbnail pic of the clip? All I get is the Ulead icon with my title.
2- How do I change the clip format from DWZ? Windows Media Encoder does not recognize this.
Newbie Stumped with DVD MovieFactory 3
That's not the clip, that's the project file.
You would have to create the video (will be MUCH LARGER than the project file).
In DMF4DC, you have the option to export the timeline as a clip -- it's one of the icons on the left of the timeline (or ALT+K).
What are you doing within DMF that you want to crete a video and then encode with WME?

Thankyou for responding George!
OK, I've got the file.
How do I export the timeline as a clip? I don't see where to look for the icons.
The reason I want to encode the clips is to take clips from my wildlife videos to post them on a friends website. I'm changing them from analog to digital with the Hauppage personal video recorder.

ooops, my mistake on the EXPORT function. I just noticed you mentioned MF3 in your original post -- I don't think the EXPORT function was available in that version -- it is in the latest version (DMF 4.0), and probably in the "just announced" version 5.0.
If you are trying to cut up some original video clips, then you might want to look at VideoStudio -- they have a free trial you can download at Ulead.com to see if it gives you what you need...

George

Hmmmm, I'm really stumped now!
I purchased the device just after Christmas and hooked it up right away to try it out. It worked great and was easily able to get a thumbnail saved in "My Videos" that played with Windows Media Player. I set the project aside till I had enough footage.
Now a few weeks later when I've got enough footage to start my project I can't remember how I did it, but I know it is possible...somehow.
