16:9 imports as 4:3

I have just got MovieFactory4 to edit videos made on a Sony DVD camcorder. The DVDs are formatted in 16:9 (I have checked the ifo headers and they have the menu in 4:3 and video in 16:9). However when I add or import them into MovieFactory the video clips are in 4:3 and I cannot find a way to change it. I have set things up as 16:9 but all I get is a 4:3 image within the 16:9 window. If I play the DVD in DVD Player it correctly displays it in 16:9 - it is only on the add media/import that it gets it wrong. I suspect its novice ignorance and would appreciate if anyone could point me to where I set up the import aspect ratio.

I don't think there is an option for importing from DVD the Aspect Ratio. As long as you have your project settings set properly, it should be ok on the final output.
