Shooting Camcorder Footage

Post by sportswizdan »

Hi...

To those of you who have Widescreen or HD Widescreen TV sets, I have a question. In shooting your camcorder footage, do you shoot in 4x3 or 16x9, knowing that you are going to be viewing your final DVD from Video Studio9 on your Widescreen TV set? Thanks, Dan

If you want to produce video that is intended to be viewed on 16.9 screens then shoot with 16.9 on your camcorder. This prevents people in the video suddenly putting on a lot of weight!

Hi Dan

Change the camera record settings to 16:9
Record your footage.
Capturing to Dv-Avi will produce a file with 16:9 properties.

And a bit more info:-

VS defaults to 4:3 when opening a new project, check the 16:9 icon on the ‘Splash Screen’ to make the default 16:9.

Make sure your project settings are 16:9 before going Share Create Disc, VS will then use the 16:9 menu templates.

Hope this helps

Trevor
