Hi all I'm new to the forum and VS9. What brought me here initially was due to my experiencing extremely poor captures with my Sony TRV280 Hi8 Digital using the USB cable that came with my camera. Tried all the different settings ect with no success.
I was not a happy camper to say the least since the Click To DVD program I was using to burn DVDs had no problems at all with the captures. The VS9 Captures and playbacks looked like they had a mosaic filter overlayed on them it was very poor to put it nicely.
Browsed the forum and did a search on the problem and thankfully someone else had the same problems with captures using USB cable.
Ran out and laid down $20 on a firewire and now I'm extremely happy with the results. Problem solved ... excellent video excellent audio no sync probs on my initial tests.
