I have some commercial movies I owned that I backed up using dvd shrink if your familiar with those softwares. How can I insert some clips into a project?
Actually,
I just checked and they are all mpeg2 files...
so, does anyone do this at times and do you have any tips on getting certain clips as opposed to having to import the whole move?

Hi Raygo..
Are you wanting to insert clips from the DVD into your projects? I think you would have to use the Insert DVD/DVD-R. This would open a Browse window. Browse to the DVD drive or location on your HDD, where the Video_TS folder is located, and select it. A second window will open, having the Titles, and chapters on the left, with boxes. Just check the boxes next to the titles and/or chapters you want to insert.
You also stated that you backed them up with DVD shrink, and they are mpeg2. You can just choose insert video, and browse to the location of the mpeg2 files, select them and insert..

Thanks for the reply.
Actually, backing up meant that after using shrink, They were all burned to16x dvd+ and in that case, they are all mpeg files so as to play on home dvd players.. and yes, understand to import as dvd in ulead..
what I haven't done yet is run the whole thing thru the gammet yet meaning,
my project is all avi which I will save as a video file 1st then open as new project to burn as the best way to go so do you think I may run into a problem since my whole project is avi but some movie clips as we discussed are already mpegs? I'm hoping this doesn't mess it up combining two different file formats to render or convert etc...or having to convert the mpeg movie clips to avi in order to keep the whole process sailing thru correctly.. the short answer of course is try it but maybe you are more informed of this procedure of combining avi with mpeg before converison/render as to it works or not....

VOB files are MPEG2 files with a bit more info contained in them.
You can sometimes get away with renaming the VOB to MPG.
