Very Disappointed

Post by caroljbear »

I tried using Videostudio and I loved how it worked and edited. I was however very disappointed with the burning process. I had the same problem as others here video and audio out of sync and I also had the problem of burning taking forever and then freezing before completion. I was all set to buy this but I got so frustrated with the problems I gave up and took it off my computer.

I read the post here about editing mpeg's and the audio out of sync issue but how come only Video studio has this problem? I use Moviefactory and have not had that problem however it doesn't burn my DVD's it only freezes up. I have to export the file to Nero Vision to finish. Why can't Ulead make one piece of software that does everything flawlessly? I am only glad I didn't spend the $100 on this software. :x :x

Hi Carol

Sorry to hear that you are not managing to produce good video.

There are many users that can achieve this, I have little problems and create many good videos. As far as I was concerned Version 8 was the worst Ulead have produced.
But I have to admit that the improvements to Version 9 kept me loyal to the product.

Ok so you are having problems, video editing is very very demanding not only on your computer but on us, the user. Hard work, frustrating to say the least. But very satisfying when a video project comes together.

Some guidelines have been set down by the users of this forum, they are worth following if you want to avoid some of the problems.
Once understood your work flow becomes easy, the strain on your pc is reduced and successful video’s are produced.

Please also read my Quick Guides for Mpeg and Dv-Avi

A typical working process goes like this.

1/ Capture to Dv-avi
2/ Edit your project
3/ Share Create a Video File ( this is one of the most important steps)
4/ Share Create Disc (using the file made in 3 above)

Understanding the video properties or not as the case may be can cause all sorts of problems.
I must admit it was the hardest thing for me to grasp.

Don’t give up Carol
