Brightening a clip

Post by Ponderer »

Is there a way to increase the brightness of an individual clip within a project. I have a couple of clips that are darker than I'd like them to be.

Thanks

Just drag and drop the "Brightness" video filter from the "Video Filter" library pane down onto it and customise it to your satisfaction

also i found that auto exposure filter works just as well. However it only seems to work on MPG clips not AVI clips.

Yes this did work. There was a little confusion figuring out which filter within the brightness filter to use. The little automatic choices offer different types of brightening effecsts. After a while I could figure out which choice offered just a little brightening and how to tweak the brightening.

But do you know what else worked to increase brightness? Increasing the Kbps of the video stream. Duh, the more data in the stream gave me the maximum brightness. So going from 6000Kbps to 8000Kbps improved most of my dark clips to the point where I only used the brightness filter on one clip. But, it did save that one clip.
