make transparent only one color within an object
I converted avi with green backgroung to animated gif. I would like to make only the green transparent. without have to go frame by frame.

The little-known "Index Editor" may help you there.
When you go to save as a gif, there is a check-box on the save window that says, "Open in Index Editor." Put the check mark there, and save.
You will then see the index editor appear, and you can change the transparent index to that green. There is a button thing down at the bottom to have the transparent index the same for all frames.
You may have to take a few stabs at this, and manually edit the palette. During optimization, a few extra shades of green may get in there and leave some green speckles behind.
Fiddle about with it, it's the best way to learn.
