I recently found that all my MPEG2 files imported into WS2 lost their sound both in Edit screen or Finish screen. Interestingly, I burnt a DVD from the finished project and they turned out to be normal (i.e. have sound and everything).
Thses MPEG2 files are generated from MSP8/TMPGEnc with 2Ch AC-3 sound tracks. They work normally in MediaPlayer and PowerDVD. MSP7/TMPGEnc/WS2 combination worked well before I got MSP8.
I then un-installed and re-installed WS2 as well as MSP8. With WS2 along, everything seems normal. After install MSP8, the MPEG2/AC-3 sound disappeared again. It looks like MSP8 overwrite something in WS2.
Does anyone have the same problem?
One thing I did not try is to install MSP8 first then WS2. I wonder if this will affect the integrity of MSP8 since MSP8 is one generation ahead of WS2.
MSP8 seems have this kind of problem with older versions of Ulead products. I experenced MSP7 /MSP8 audio filter problems that were reported in MSP forum.
MPEG2 No Sound - DVD Workshop & MediaStudio 8 Problem?
Have you tried encoding in MSP8 or WS2? If so, does it do the same? In the Edit|Audio tab, is the "re-encode" check box checked?
