erm, don't buy version 4: 5 is out! Why risk more buggy software when you can keep MF3 and use the very stable womble MPEG2VCR. If you haven't twigged by now, Ulead seems very happy to use customers as beta testers then abandon a product rather than improve and update it.
I have had, MF2, MF3, two version of MF4: I just wish they would build a product that has space to grow and add new features instead of a completely new version.

what particular bug are you referring to in DMF4? are you referring to the import DVD bugs (2394 and 2303)? they now have the fix for it.keithm wrote: On a more serious note: does this mean Ulead will give up trying to fix the bugs in mF4, and if they do give up maybe there is a case to get them to offer free upgrades?
imho, i would choose DMF4 over DMF3. Ulead has been fixing those bugs in DMF4 and you can see that by the number of patches that was released (and patch revisions) plus the DLL files that they send when you contact their tech support mail.
Who? Me?

I've had several requests for tech support, intially I got a response but never a conclusion - the only way I found aout about patches was by looking at the website. The last bug I had was after installing the latest upgrade the software would no longer import DVD +VR from a dvd recorded on a stand alone recorder (worked before the upgrade).
I also had the you dead bug.
MF4 is much slower then MF3 and despite trying every tip I can find - it seems to have more audio sync problems than MF3.
So, unless I need AC3 support I stick to MF3.
The point is, I have had to make several big downloads to get the software even to work, I only have dialup at home and I would have been screwed if a friend didn't download them for me.
