Placing text first

I've gottent to the point where I can add text. But I've been unable to move the text as a clip to the beginning so that I don't convolute the actual movie. Thank you for your help.

hi

Add a colour clip from the library to the start of video timeline.
Use the ripple effect to keep your clips in order.

Place your title text under the colour clip.

Using the text animation click the two 'TT's for further options
