There is probably something wrong with your captured file. Will it play in Windows Media Player?

Analog capture is the trickiest part of this whole tricky digital-video business. You need a fast computer, and you can't multi-task during capture. If the computer can't keep-up, you'll get dropped-frames or some other form of corruption. What is your CPU speed? How much RAM do you have?

Ulead seems to be picky about video files. Sometimes a file will play OK but have some small "sneaky" corruption that will cause the Ulead programs to choke.

What capture hardware do you have? CapWiz is used with an MPEG-only capture device, right? MPEGs are trouble! You can use Movie Factory to make a DVD from a known-good MPEG file, but if you want to edit MPEGs, I recomend that you do NOT use Ulead for that. Get a special-purpose MPEG editor.
