No initiallization error in video capture
I received the same error (I believe the code is [13011:1:2]) after I upgraded to Windows XP. Video capture worked fine in Windows 2000. I emailed Ulead Tech Support and received a reply late last night. I haven't had a chance to try their suggestions yet, and I am skeptical. Below is what they said:
------------------
Please download and install the Mpeg Vio Driver Update Patch from this
link:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp_dmf2.htm
*Please launch Windows Explorer and go to tools\folder option\advance
setting to check "show hidden files and folders".
Please copy all files from the folder
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\Mpeg"
to "C:\Windows\System32" directory.
*When capturing video, try changing the capture plug-in
1. Go to the capture video window
2. Go to "Capture Settings --> Change Capture Plug-in..."
3. Use "Ulead DirectShow capture plug-in" (for AVI).
-------------------
I hope to try these steps tonight and will post a status of results, but I thought perhaps you might see this today and give the suggestions a try.

No initiallization error in video capture
Tried Ulead Tech Support's suggestions last night - still same error. I installed Video Studio, which also came with AverMedia video capture card. It captures video fine - just as it did with Windows 2000. I think I'll capture with Video Studio and forget Movie Factory.

I fixed my Movie Factory. I oriiginally installed both Video Studio and Movie Factory, but had to change Video Settings to use Video Studio. Decided I didn't need it so uninstalled it. That's when Movie Factory started giving me the initiallization error. I never gave it any thought. The other day i reinstalled video studio and tried Movie Factory again and it works fine. So I figure Movie Factory needs something thats in Video Studio. Merely deleted the icon for Video Studio, don't use it, and all is ok. Might try Movie Factory now that you have Video Studio back in. Let me know if that also works as mine did.
Thanks!
Thanks!
